People who...

...listen to music from their mobile phones without wearing headphones should be put in stocks and have rotten fruit hurled at them. I was thinking harsher punishment but I'm trying to be more of a humanitarian and am generally against capital punishment despite being tempted often by public irritants such as this. It tends to be neddy looking sorts who should probably be steralized for the good of the gene pool listeningto irritating garbage but occasionally it relatively normal looking sorts and such behaviour is socially unacceptable especially as any phone I've ever bought that could play music comes with headphones provided.

A new book

Just bought a book called Do it yourself: A handbook for changing our world.

I'm hoping it will provide inspiration.

Another book I read recently which I found stoked the old grey matter was Guardians of Power: The Myth of the Liberal Media, a very interesting read and certainly stimulating a bit of real debate.

Online shopping

Much as I appreciate any attempt to improve the security of online shopping I still for the life of me can't help wonder exactly how it is that by typing in a number that albeit written in smallish print is plainly visible on the back of my credit card will somehow improve the safety of my transactions. Indeed nigh on every website points out where it is to be found so you can complete your order, is it to foil criminals that while capable of stealing my credit card might have neglected to put on their reading glasses for when they sit down at a computer to fraudulently buy products?

Am I missing something really obvious? Was I emant to take a note of that number and remember in the same fashion as a pin number and then scratch it off so no one could see? I could have sworn there was nothing like that mentioned when it was sent out.

Belatedly perhaps but...

...happy new year to one and all.

Hopefully this coming year will be a better one, I doubts it but live in hope.

No real new years resolutions made other than to to reapply myself to writings and increase my output which has declined rather unfortunately. Aims are to have a screenplay finished by the summer and something else well under way by end of the year.
